Should you find a companion for your stay home pet?

When working adults leave for work, all their pets stay home alone. According to the Humane Society more than 39 percent working adults owns dogs and more than 33 percent owns cats. Should all pet owners leave their pets alone while they are at work or should they find a companion for their pet?

Getting an additional companion pet for your stay home alone pet is going to add to your expenses. As you already know, additional cost to provide for an additional pet can be twice more expensive. Instead of calming the behavior of the existing pet, barking and other behavior could increase by both joining together.

Benefits include that adding another pet may get your pet a playing partner and together they get more exercises. A new pet could calm fears of your existing pet such as barking and reaction to loud noises. Dogs especially are more attached to humans and a companion pet can fill the loneliness gap while you are away from home. When you are looking to get an additional pet, find a one younger than your existing pet and of opposite sex. But you need to try any new pets before you make a decision.
